She has been the face of Metro Television’s music show ‘playlist’ for the past three years.
However, the pretty presenter born Jacqueline Adukwei Acquaye, has unexpectedly brought to a close, a chapter in her life.
Jackie, as she is affectionately called announced she was leaving the ‘Playlist’ show after hosting it for the last time on Friday.
Riyal Abdul, another up and coming presenter, is taking over as new hostess as the former presenter takes up bigger challenges.
Jackie, who graduated from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) this month, said she was excited and sad at the same time quitting the show. But viewers of Metro television would have to watch out because Jackie is just quitting the show but will still be on the screens as her parting words sought to say.
“It’s been three years since I started playlist, three years of fan, three years of struggle, three years of excitement, three years of togetherness, unity, like I don’t know how to describe the whole experience, but it has been good, it has been very good”, she said sounding emotional.
“And you guys have been so supportive like I don’t even know how to describe that support, because you guys have been sending in messages from day one we started, the support has been there”, she told her viewers.
Jackie continued “I’m excited for the things that are about to happen but of course, I feel very sad am leaving playlist…. I don’t know like I am a bit confused but I am excited about the things that are going to happen on Metro TV.I am excited about everything happening right now”.
Riyah who was also on the show to help Jackie sign off asked viewers “Not to worry because you will see Jackie on your screens very soon.
You will find out why she is leaving so just relax. We are signing off but Jackie is going to do something greater, don’t worry guys, I will take care of you but Jackie is going to do something greater”.
