Miss Ghana Pageant is ‘An Escort Agency’ claim: MP Wants Allegation Investigated

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak has waded into claims by three past winners of the Miss Ghana beauty competition that the pageant is “An Escort Agency”, rather than a mere beauty contest.

The past queens are, Stephanie Karikari, Miss Ghana 2010, Miss Ghana 2015, Antoinette Delali Kemavor and Miss Ghana 2013-Giuseppina Nana Akua Baafi.

According to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) who until becoming a legislator, was the boss of the National Youth Authority (NYA) said, the allegation amounts to criminality and so certain level of attention needs to be paid to it by way of investigation.

In a facebook post few hours after the news broke on Sunday, the MP shared the article by ghanacelebrities.com and added “Aspects of the story amounts of criminality if it turns out to be true, and certainly that can’t go unpunished”.

He continued “This is worth investigating. We mustn’t tolerate any form of exploitation of innocent girls”.

On Sunday, Ghanaians were hit with the news that Inna Patty, the current owner of Miss Ghana’s franchise holding company, Exclusive Events Ghana, allegedly exploits winners of the annual event to raise money.

She is yet to respond to the explosive allegation which has the potential to damage her irreparably.
